Hare Krishna, we have wonderful news. After 20 years of being out of print Srila Prabhupada’s original 17 Volume Sri Caitanya-caritamrta set is now finally available again at www.KrishnaStore.co.uk

Sri Caitanya-caritamrta is the principal work on the life and teachings of Sri Krsna Caitanya, the Supreme Personality of Godhead appearing as His own devotee. Sri Krsna Caitanya was the pioneer of a great social and religious movement thatbegan in India about 500 years ago that has directly and indirectly influenced the course of religious and philosophical thinking not only inIndia but throughout the world. These volumes feature the original Bengali text with English equivalents, translation, and elaborate commentary, plus a complete glossary, subject index, and verse index.

This printing is an exact replica of the original books printed in 1974 including the original text and all original color plates.

This is a great opportunity to get Srila Prabhupada’s original Sri Caitanya-caritamrta set for a very reasonable price. This is limited printing so please take advantage of it as soon as possible.

Many devotees have been asking for the original Caitanya-caritamrta set since it went out of print in the 1990’s.The BBT have replaced it with a new “revised” edition which includes thousands of changes. Most devotees, however, feel more comfortable reading the original books Srila Prabhupada personally published and read himself daily and gave all his classes from.

Srila Prabhupada teaches us that Bhagavad-gita is the introductory text on the science of Krishna consciousness, Srimad-Bhagavatam is the advanced course and Sri Caitanya-caitamrta is the post-graduate study of spiritual life:

So study this Caitanya-caritamrta. Now we have got this English edition, very elaborately described, following the footsteps of our Guru Maharaja, Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura Prabhupada. So there is no such edition of Caitanya-caritamrta,very elaborately described. But it can be understood by the advanced student. It can be… And so…

Advanced, you can, anyone, you can become advanced. Advanced means at least one should understand that Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead. If you simply understand these two words, that Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead, then you are advanced. It is not very difficult. Everything, all Vedic literature, they are meant for understanding Krsna. Vedais ca sarvair aham eva vedyam [Bg.15.15]. So if you simply understand… What is that understanding? That Krsna is the Supreme Personality of Godhead… if you accept These few words, then you are advanced student, immediately. Take it from me,that simply this conviction, that “Krsna is the Supreme Personality ofGodhead,” then you are advanced student in spiritual life. (from Srila Prabhupada’s class on Cc. Adi 1.1, Mayapur March 25,1975)
