Source of Image???

srila-prabhupada-early-years

We have an urgent need to find the source of the above image so it can be used with permission in Yadubara prabhu’s film Acharya which is documenting Srila Prabhupada’s journey from India to America, and his founding of ISKCON. The film is on track to complete by December 2016 and release theatrically in Spring 2017.

If you have seen this image or know the source please contact us at: theharekrishnamovement@gmail.com or Jessica Heinrich at: jessica@innervoiceproductions.com

Photograph of a Spiritual Teacher is in the Absolute Stage

Srila Prabhupada framed

…Yes. Those who are spiritually advanced, their photograph and ordinary photograph is different. Just like here is statue of Kṛṣṇa. He’s not different from Kṛṣṇa. The original person Kṛṣṇa and this statue of Kṛṣṇa is the same. Similarly, a spiritually perfect person and his photograph is the same. Because it is in the absolute stage. In the absolute stage there is no difference. In the material stage there is difference. Is that clear?… (Srila Prabhupada Bhagavad-gita Lecture Sept. 16, 1966)

An Early Essay by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada

Srila Prabhupada 2

I saw this beautiful picture of Srila Prabhupada today on the Sampradaya Sun. I was so attracted by this picture that I just needed to post it here, along with the following essay…

Devotee and the Divinity
BY: SUN STAFF CANADA (SUN)

An early essay by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Srila Prabhupada

A pure devotee is just like the Desire-Tree from whom we can have on request everything desireable. This is no myth or bluff but it is actual fact. The devotee can deliver to us the mercy of God and what is not obtainable by one who has got the mercy of God? Therefore the devotees are the most magnanimous in their charitable disposition of mind. They are also the deliverer of the fallen souls and we need to offer our obeisances unto their lotus feet so that we can invoke their blessings in our all attempts.

Here in the West we are celebrating the Appearance Day of Lord Balarama. What better way to honor the occasion than with some images of Krishna and Balarama from the Krishna Balarama Mandir in Vrindavan. The folowing are from the last few days of the Darshan Gallery

The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Kṛṣṇa, is the fountainhead of all incarnations. Lord Balarāma is His second body.

Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa, the absolute Personality of Godhead, is the primeval Lord, the original form of Godhead, and His first expansion is Śrī Balarāma. The Personality of Godhead can expand Himself in innumerable forms. ( Verse and purport Sri Caitanya-caritamrta Adi-lila 5.4)

Dissapearance Day of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura

Srila Bhaktivinoda holding young Bhaktisiddhanta

Today as we honor the disappearance of Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura with a 1/2 day fast and readings on his life and teachings, we share with you this rare photo.

This is a photo of young Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, who was then known by his family name of Kedaranatha (which was the name given by his father, and is another name for Lord Siva), and was born on September 2nd, 1838, on a Sunday in the ancient village of Brinagar (Ulagram or Ula) located in the Nadia district of West Bengal. He was the third son of Ananda-candra Datta and Jagat-mohini Devi. He is pictured here, with I believe, young Bimala Prasad, who was latter to become Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati, the spiritual master of our Srila Prabhupada.
